History was made yesterday at the grand finale of the 2023 Ugwumba Enterprise Challenge in Abuja as Taiwo Akinsanya, CEO of Dynalimb Technologies, a health tech startup that provides orthotics and prosthetic services won our grand prize of two million niara (N2 million).
The second star prize of one million naira (N1 million) went to Emmanuel Abah, a 2nd year student of the Federal University of Technology, Minna, and CEO of Waste 2 Light Ltd, a company that converts plastic wastes into recyclable synthetic renewable energy components.
Other star prize winners included:
1)Nnebe Chibuike, CEO of Astrae, a company that turns plastic wastes into damp-resistant concrete blocks, who won our 3rd star prize of seven hundred thousand naira (N700K);
2)Blessing Evea Onwe, CEO of Blessing Evea Signature, a social enterprise that revamps old, worn-out fashion items into new products, won the 4th star prize of five hundred thousand naira (N500K); and
3)Samuel Joseph, CEO of Behoove Events, an online events planning and ticketing platform, who went home with the star prize of three hundred thousand naira (N300K).
Speaking during the presentation of the grant prizes, the President of the Center, Ugwumba Uche Nwosu informed the audience that the Enterprise Challenge was established in order to promote #innovations and self-employment among youths in Nigeria for the purposes of reducing the rate of unemployment in the country.
